Sage Capital Bank

A Bold Name Grounded in Texas Heritage

The Need

In 2008, American National Bank began to explore additional opportunities for growth and discovered that there were over 150 banks throughout Texas with some variation of an “American Bank” name. With that in mind, they decided to change their name. They wanted a name that would eliminate customer confusion with similarly named banks and build a strong, unique brand.

The Name

To better reflect their Texas values, Texas roots and their mission as a community bank, they chose a name they could stand behind with pride. “Sage Capital Bank” brought to mind the qualities of native Texas sage – a shrub that is strong, resilient and native to the land. But sage also refers to knowledge, wisdom, and experience – someone revered for wisdom and good judgment. To better communicate these traits, their new name was paired with the tagline, “Financial Wisdom. Texas Roots.”

The Result

Today, the bank has Texas branch locations in Gonzales, Lockhart, Luling, New Braunfels, San Marcos, Shiner, and Spring Branch.
