Info Center: Naming Resources

We have learned a lot over the past three decades of naming everything from the automobiles we drive and the medicines we take, to the foods we eat and the high tech gear we love. We’ve also probably made just about every naming mistake possible (unfortunately more than once, in some cases). We have experimented with, honed, and even pioneered some of the many name development techniques out there. Hopefully, we’ve learned a little from all of this.

So in this section we share some of our stories and guidance about naming … what has worked, what hasn’t and everything in between. We present a lot of this in written form but have also added a few short videos. While we are certainly not professional story tellers or actors, we have tried to provide useful content in short, bite-sized pieces. Enjoy!
