The Cubixx name was initially developed after looking at photos of the unit that highlighted its cube-like shape in a hospital setting. The double x’s tied it to prescription (Rx) drugs as well as reflecting its high tech look and feel. Six letters and 2 syllables said a lot.
The MD was added to the end of the original name after Cubixx was extended to physician practices. The name was short enough to easily accommodate the two additional letters.
